Welcome Morgan! New SMP Volunteer Manager Joins our Team

Morgan Grabau

We have some good news to share. Morgan Grabau recently joined our CHA California Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) team as our new SMP Statewide Volunteer Manager.

Morgan brings a wealth of professional experience to our team with over 9 years in the nonprofit arena of proven experience of volunteer recruitment, cultivation, management and retention, as well as strategic planning and support of programming and operational goals. She has expertise in nonprofit and program management and has partnered with federal, state and local agencies, as well as companies in the private sector.

With over a decade of event management experience, Morgan has recently served as the Deputy Director and Education Program Director for a nonprofit offering continuing education credits.  Her work experience includes working as a senior events and accounting specialist, operations and membership specialist, database management and conference support and more. She has strong organizational and communication skills, and is comfortable with new challenges, multi-tasking and flexible with changing priorities.

Morgan will be responsible for managing and coordinating multiple projects and volunteers and will play a crucial role in developing and implementing recruitment ideas and strategies, screening, training, and managing volunteers, working collaboratively with statewide partners, and maintaining volunteer retention and recognition. We are delighted to have her join our team.

Karen Joy Fletcher

Our blogger Karen Joy Fletcher is CHA’s Communications Director. With a Masters in Public Health from UC Berkeley, she is the online “public face” of the organization, provides technical expertise, writing and research on Medicare and other health care issues. She is responsible for digital content creation, management of CHA’s editorial calendar, and managing all aspects of CHA’s social media presence.
