Watch Out for Sutter Health Scams
Do you get your insurance through Sutter Health? Or do you know someone who does? If so, pass on this fraud alert of scammers calling enrollees while pretending to be employees from Sutter Health. These fraudsters are asking enrollees for their full Social Security numbers, banking info, credit card numbers and other personal information to “verify their identity”. Don’t do it. This is a scam! Sutter Health will never ask for this information to verify your identity over the phone, within the online chat function of My Health Online, or via email.

Sutter Health will only verify your identity by asking for the following:
  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • And a 3rd identifier – which may include:
    • Phone number;
    • Address; or
    • Last 4 digits of Social Security Number
Sutter Health staff may reach out to via phone, email or postal mail. Their emails will always come from an email address ending in @SutterHealth.org.

Sutter Health will never request bank account numbers, full Social Security numbers, or full credit card numbers to verify your identity through any of these channels of communication.

If you have questions, contact your Sutter Health plan. To report fraud and scams, call our California Senior Medicare Patrol at 1-855-613-7080.
