All of us at California Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) are still glowing from our wonderful 2024 SMP Spring Conference, our first in-person conference with our SMP volunteers and partners since the COVID pandemic. It was a delightful, productive and inspiring time of connection, networking, learning, collaborating, and celebrating successes and the dedication with which our statewide team serves and empowers our California beneficiaries, their families and caregivers in Medicare fraud prevention.

Take a look at our 2024 conference program to see the line up, and our conference page has slides posted from each presenter and their valuable presentations. Some of our presentations included:

  • Disrupting Bias, Enhancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with Gina Weekley, Director of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, Waterloo Schools
  • Empowering Opening Remarks on Day 2 with Martha Guerroro, West Sacramento Mayor
  • Addressing Hospice Fraud Through Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Latino Communities with Sheila Clark, Carmen Estrada and Janelle Doll, CEO, Executive Director, & Special Projects Manager, California Hospice & Palliative Care Association, Inland Caregiver Resource Center & Finest City Entertainment
  • Medicare Advantage & Part D Plan New Marketing Rules & Communications Oversight with Peter Bauer, Health Administrator, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

  • Power of Collaboration & Connectivity in Medicare Fraud Prevention with Jennifer Webb, Administrative Manager, Fresno-Madera Area Agency on Aging
  • SMP Updates & Case Sharing with SMP Staff

We are deeply grateful to/for ALL of our SMP volunteers and partners! And we extend a big thank you for all the great work they do throughout our state in empowering beneficiaries and their families in Medicare fraud prevention, and, in bringing peace and love to their hearts and a smile to their face and lives!

Here are just a few images to give you a flavor of the passion, inspiration, love and joy that was contagious and abundant at this event! 🙂 Go California Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP)!
