New York Times Features California’s SMP

California Health Advocates > Fraud & Abuse > New York Times Features California’s SMP

Posted by Karen Fletcher on October 29, 2010

Today The New York Times featured the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program as a solution to fighting fraud, and interviewed Julie Schoen, our SMP Project Director in California, and Makeba Huntington-Symons with the SMP program in Florida. The article, Be Alert to Protect Yourself Against Medicare Fraud, reminds people of specific actions and steps they can take to prevent fraud.

SMPs across the country have received over 500 calls nationally as a result of the January Wall Street Journal article. Many more are expected into our California office as a result of this article today.

Great job Julie and GO SMP!
