Medicare & You

Medicare & You is a free and valuable publication that helps people understand how Medicare works, what their coverage options are, their entitled benefits and rights and where to go for help. This is especially helpful as we approach Medicare’s annual Open Enrollment period, October 15 – December 7. Medicare offers these educational booklets in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.

Advocates have worked for years to get more languages available and last year we were thrilled to see Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese added in. The Medicare & You booklets are excellent tools to empower beneficiaries and their families to understand their benefits and get the most of their health care coverage and rights.

Ordering them is quick and easy. Go to Medicare.gov, or follow this direct link to ordering publications. All that is needed is name and address. A Medicare number is NOT required.

Note that the Spanish versions are also available in audio, Braille, and large print. It is also possible to order by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (just say “AGENT” to get through the prompts).

Let’s let Medicare know that these translations (and more) are important. Spread the word and order copies for yourself, your family, friends, and clients who will benefit from them.
