Posted on
California Health Advocates (CHA) is honored to receive a two-year grant from the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation (YDWN) to work with their elders and caregivers providing education on Medicare entitled benefits, their rights and access to care and how to spot and report fraud. CHA recognizes that one of the many ways the government has historically underserved California’s tribal communities is with Medicare education, and this grant project serves to remedy this situation. The grant program, entitled Better Healthcare for Tribal Members in Northern California, will build a strong foundation for a long-term partnership with YDWN and neighboring tribes based in understanding and respect for their elders and the medical providers who serve them.
